On January 6, the Rotary Club of Fredericksburg presented its 2024-2025 Hans Hanneman Community Service Award to Bernice Weinheimer (second from right). Presenting the award was Sloan Gunter, committee chair (second from left). Mrs. Weinheimer was recognized for her work to help create the Gillespie County Country Schools organization, her work with the Gillespie County Historical Commission, and her efforts to help form the Stonewall Heritage Society. Also pictured, (left to right) are Dennis Hanneman, son of the award namesake, Ronnie Pue, former Rotary president who nominated Mrs. Weinheimer, and Bruce Weinheimer, eldest son of the honoree.
